【摘要】:1.1Thisguidecoverstheidentificationofmetalsandalloysincomputerizedmaterialpropertydatabases.Itestablishesessentialanddesirabledataelementsthatservetouniquelyidentifyanddescribeaparticularmetaloralloysampleaswellaspropertiesthatidentifyagivenmetaloralloyingeneral.1.1.1Thisguidedoesnotnecessarilyprovidesufficientdataelementstodescribeweldmetal,metalmatrixcomposites,orjoinedmetals.1.1.2Thedataelementidentifiedhereinarenotallgermanetoeverymetaloralloygroup.1.1.3Differentsetsofdataelementsmayalsobeappliedwithinagivenmetaloralloygroupdependingonconditionsorapplicationsspecifictothatmetaloralloygroup.Further,withinaparticularmetaloralloygroup,differentsetsofdataelementsmaybeusedtoidentifyspecificmaterialconditions.1.1.4Table1onRecommendedDataElementsandonvaluesforspecificdataelementsappearattheendofthisguide.1.2Someofthedataelementsinthisguidemaybeusefulforotherpurposes.However,thisguidedoesnotattempttodocumenttheessentialanddesirabledataelementforanypurposeexceptfortheidentificationofmetalsandalloysincomputerizedmaterialpropertydatabases.Otherpurposes,suchasmaterialproduction,materialprocurement,andmaterialprocessing,eachmayhavedifferentmaterialdatareportingrequirementsdistinctfromthosecoveredinthisguide.Aspecificexampleisthecontractuallyrequiredreportforamaterialpropertytestingseries.Suchareportmaynotcontainallthedataelementsconsideredessentialforaspecificcomputerizeddatabase;conversely,thisguidemaynotcontainallthedataelementsconsideredessentialforacontractedtestreport.1.3Resultsfrommaterialtestsconductedaspartoftheprocurementprocessareoftenusedtodetermineadherencetoaspecification.Whilethisguideincludesanumberoftestresultdataelements,suchdataelementsareincludedinthisguideonlyforthepurposesofmaterialidentification.1.4Reportingofcontractedtestresults,suchascertificationtestresults,shallfollowtherequirementsdescribedinthematerialspecification,orasagreeduponbetweenthepurchaserandthemanufacturer.1.5Thisguidecontainsalimitednumberofdataelementsrelatedtomaterialtestresults.ThesedataelementsareformaterialidentificationpurposesandarenotintendedtoreplacethemoredetailedsetsofdataelementslistedinguidessuchasGuideE1313coveringdatarecordingformatsformechanicaltestingofmetals.Formaterialidentificationpurposes,thedataelementsinthisguideincludetypical,nominal,orsummarypropertiesnormallyderivedfromapopulationofindividualspecimentests.Ifwarrantedbythescopeofaparticulardatabasesystem,thesystemmightprovidelinksbetweenthematerialidentificationdataelementsgiveninthisguide,andtheindividualspecimentestresultsrecordedinaccordancewithotherguidescorrespondingtoparticulartestmethods.1.6MaterialClasses8212;SeeANSI/AWSA9.1-92forarcwelds,GuideE1308forpolymers,GuideE1309forcompositematerial,andGuideE1471forfibers,fillers,andcorematerials.ASTMCommitteeE49isdevelopingguidesforothermaterialclasses.
