【摘要】:Broad-crestedweirscanbeusedforaccuratemeasurementsofawiderangeofflowrates,buttheirstructuralsimplicityandsturdinessmakethemparticularlyusefulformeasuringlargeflowsunderfieldconditions.Becausetheyrequireverticalsidewalls,broad-crestedweirsareparticularlyadaptabletorectangularartificialchannelsortonaturalandartificialchannelsthatcanreadilybelinedwithverticalsidewallsintheimmediatevicinityoftheweir.1.1Thistestmethodcoversmeasurementofthevolumetricflowrateofwaterinopenchannelswithtwotypesofhorizontalbroad-crestedweirs:thosehavingasquare(sharp)upstreamcornerandthosehavingawell-roundedupstreamcorner.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
