【摘要】:Thisstandardspecifiestwoempiricalmethodsforthequantitativedeterminationofthelossofmassfromaplasticmaterialunderdefinedconditionsofrimeandtemperature,inthepresenceofactivatedcarbon.Thesemethodsareused,inparticular,forthequantitativedeterminationofthelossonheatingofplasticizersfromplasticizedplasticmaterialsinwhichcaseitisgenerallyassumedthatnosignificantamountsofothervolatilematerialsarepresent.Theseareempiricaltestmethods,suitableonlyforaratherrapidcomparisonofthelossesofplasticizersor,ingeneral,ofvolatilecompounds,fromdifferentplastics.Theymayalsobeemployedforthecomparisonofdifferenttypesofplasticizers;inthiscasestandardcompoundsshouldbeprepared,onthebasisofawellcharacterizedresin,withknownratiosofresintoplasticizer.NOTE-Thesecomparisonsarepossibleonlyifthetestspecimensareofthesamethickness.Ifitcanbeassumedthat,afterreconditioning,themoisturecontentoftheexposedspecimensisequaltotheobtainingaftertheoriginalconditioning,theeffectofmoisturemaybeignored.Twomethodsarespecified:MethodA:Thetestspecimensareindirectcontactwiththecarbon;thismethodispaticularlyusefulformaterialsthathavetobetestedatrelativelylowtemperaturesbecausetheflowathighertemperatures.MethodB:Thetestspecimensareplacedinwirecagesthatpreventdirectcontactbetweenthetestspecimensandthecarbon.
